This castle on the Loir valley was built on the site of a Gallo-roman villa henceforth its name comes «Meziere». During many generations it belonged to the Taillevis family. Raphaël de Taillevis was a doctor and friend of the king of Navarre, Antoine de Bourbon, the duke of Vendôme, father of Henry IV.
As the years passed by the castle was transformed, however all its charm has been preserved. The little chapel, the slate encrusted chimneys like Chambord and lovely Renaissance gallery.
